35" long x 33" high x 6" deepThis piece is a reproduction of a rare and beautiful weathervane made by J. Howard and Company in the 1860s. The original was sold at a Sotheby's auction in 1990 for $770,000. This reproduction is made from pine, copper and iron and is painted in a copper verdigris finish. The details on the horse's mane and tail, and the gentleman's hat, waistcoat, buttons, and whip are all true to the original form. The piece comes mounted on an antique iron lightning rod which is also attached to a handmade plinth. The total height of the weathervane, lightning rod and plinth is 6 feet, 8 inches.
